About
A Singapore-based team combining clinical, engineering, and regulatory expertise to bring the first MIGS option for angle-closure disease to patients.
Our Story
Kinara Vision Technologies was founded in Singapore from work initiated during the 2019–2020 Singapore Biodesign Fellowship program, where Founder and CEO Preeti Mohan, together with fellow Biodesign Fellows David Chen, Bryan Ho, and Hee Jia Yun, worked alongside clinicians, engineers, and translational researchers to identify one of the most critical unmet needs in glaucoma care.
From the outset, the programme was developed in close collaboration with Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) and Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), with Assoc. Prof. Shamira Perera and Dr. Zhu Li Yap involved from the earliest stages of clinical and surgical development.
Over the following years, the team advanced the Flostream platform through feasibility, prototyping, biocompatibility testing, and long-term preclinical evaluation — supported by more than S$2.8 million in non-dilutive funding. Today, Kinara Vision Technologies is preparing for first-in-human clinical evaluation in Singapore.
Vision
We believe every patient deserves access to safe, effective, minimally invasive treatment. Kinara Vision Technologies was founded to close the gap for the millions living with angle-closure disease who have no suitable surgical option today.
